So, if we hypothetically had a small competition on Saturday, it went great! Three tough little workouts jammed into a short period, with some cheering, judging and support, all whilst keeping our distances. Except in a picture. I talk about this a lot, but there are many reasons to dip your toes into competition, whether it is CrossFit, a road race, a soccer league, or chucking horseshoes. You get to really see your level against a field that likely is there to win. And how do they win? By beating you! So you better bring it. I love getting to workout with a judge. You get to turn you brain off, just focus on the work and really get into the moment. Because you get to really lock into the task at hand, we get to see some great efforts. This is not set in stone – meaning if you want to attend and play, LET ME KNOW! $20 entry fee or $35 for entry and a t-shirt. It is a great first “competition” and will get you prepped and excited for the Open coming up in February. There are NO REGULAR CLASSES this Saturday. Don’t forget about the hike next weekend too:) For Thursday, we will be looking to test out 1 rep max on the Front Squat. Use sets of 2 and 3 to get warm, and when the bar starts feeling heavy, go to singles. I would set you target lift for your 4th set and save the 5th for misses or maybe some magic post PR, PR lift. I do not recommend weightlifting shoes for the deadlift, but fo the front squat you may see all the gear: shoes, belt, wrist wraps, maybe even a headband....
