Opening Day!

We can hardly believe it’s finally here!  Alison and I began seriously discussing CrossFit Oakdale on Labor Day weekend.  We actually got the keys to 1872 Ackley Circle on 11/17, more about and with the help of a bunch of great people, ampoule we’re ready to go by 12/3!  Hey, we’re CrossFitters.  We do stuff “for time”, even build gyms.
 
We are proud to say CrossFit Modesto is the CrossFit box we “grew up” in.  We built so many great memories and friendships at CrossFit Modesto, and we look forward to strengthening old bonds and building new ones at CrossFit Oakdale.
 
Many of you have seen, or even tested out the new space.  CrossFit Oakdale still a work in progress, but hey, aren’t we all?   We’ll be painting and accumulating gear over the coming weeks, and we’d love to hear your ideas on how to make the best CrossFit box for YOU.
Saturday Morning Notes
We’ll be signing waivers and doing paper work for new members if you haven’t done it starting at 8:30.  We hope to  start the first heat right at 9, so if you want to get it on right away, get there early.  Be ready to warm up at 8:45.  We’ll likely run a second heat at 9:25.  We’ll go over standards/skills after the first warmup.  We’re playing this by ear, so please bear with us.

Workout of the Day
Partner “Cindy”
20 Minute AMRAP
One partner will perform
5 Pullups
10 Pushups
15 Air squats
The other partner will run 400m.  When the runner returns to the gym, the “Cindy-er” will begin their run, and the runner will pick up where the “Cindy-er” left off.  Trust me, it’s not as confusing as it sounds.  Remember, this will be scaled to all ability levels, and if you don’t have a partner, we’ll find one for ya.
 
At 10-ish, some “advanced” CrossFitters will take on a hard core WOD.  Stick around if you want to see some fit guys and gals throw down like their lives depended on it.
