The movie clip is from “Vision Quest.” Chance was asking about this movie, and it’s excellent timing.  The Open is about lifting up humanity through sheer will and human connection. Monday at 10am will be the drawing of the teams for the CrossFit Oakdale Open. Please text Alison at 209-345-4380 to let her know what category you are in if you are signed up or plan to sign up: Black – RX – You basically do all workouts RX.  Maybe not Muscleups, but pretty much everything else.  Maybe you are not great at everything, but you are a capable, fit human. Red – Kind of RX, Kind of Scaled – You can RX many workouts, but some advanced moved like Doubleunders, Chest to Bar Pullups and Handstand Pushups are always in your way.  This year, anyway. White – Scaled – Generally, you perform all workouts scaled.  For now, at least....

If you have been around on the MisFit Complex Days, you may have seen some people focusing on the transitions between the movements. This is our goal tomorrow. You may not get as heavy on the lifts, but try and transition cleanly, smoothly and even a little flow-like tomorrow as you go through the complex.  Monday’s schedule will have Mobility class at 8:30am and WOD at 9am. We will be separating out teams at 10am.  Workout of the Day Strength MisFit Clean Complex Power Clean – Push Jerk – Front Squat – Hang Squat Clean – Split Jerk Build to a smooth flowing complex in 20 minutes Conditioning  AMRAP 15 12/9 Cal Row 18 AbMat Situps * *6 GHD Situps can be substituted.

Don’t forget to sign up for the Open! Monday will be a 9 am only day, with the assigning of teams after class.  This is one of my(Alison) favorite WOD’s. Long workout…chipping away…you can blame me. FEBRUARY 19, 2014 We’ve done today’s WOD,  “Jonesworthy” before.  It’s not a great Open prep – I don’t really think we’ll see KBS or air squat (well maybe air squats), and pullups will likely be chest to bar.  But every WOD doesn’t have to be a prep for something else, sometimes it just is what it is.  This one is tough conditioning and a grip smoker. You may have noticed some videos of CrossFit Oakdale coaches floating around the inter webs.  We have been encouraging you to sign up for the CrossFit Games Opens and being on “our team.” What is this whole team thing?  Well, Brad, Denny, Tricia, Tim and I (Brian) will each have a “team” during the Open.  This requires nothing other than signing up and doing the workouts.  What it will do it give you a smaller team, and a direct coach to help you strategize, be better prepared, have a motivator or a shoulder to cry on if they make us do a million thrusters.
