The longterm goal of CrossFit is health and wellness. CrossFit even came up with a brilliant Glassman Wellness continuum that has sickness on one end and fitness on the other. Sickness entails chronic disease – diabetes, obesity, cancer – but it also considers drug addiction, depression, eating disorders and other maladies as obstacles that can affect our overall health. Watch the news or clink on a link in your news feed and you know are these mental challenges on the rise as leading causes of death.
Finding solutions to these issues aren’t alway easy. I wanted to share a website I came across that you may be able to use or share with a friend or loved one. The Recovery Village has detoxification facilities, as well as recovery programs. There may not be a center near you, but there is a list of resources in all areas of the country, including the Stanislaus County area spanning substance abuse to domestic violence. Please share.
