October is upon us and it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We have a couple of fun events planned to raise money to support the Barbells for Boobs Foundation. They get ahead of the game by providing mammograms for women who are not eligible/cannot afford them Everyone should be able to get a mammogram – but a lot of time insurance dictates whether or not you deserve one.

Besides the Mammograms in Action Program, Barbells for Boobs also offers the RAD program. It stands for Resources After Diagnosis. It focuses is on nutrition and exercise as an approach to prepare those newly diagnosed. They support through scholarships to gyms where they will work with trainers on nutrition and fitness programs to best get through their treatment, as well as support communities online and in person.

Donate baked goods (please include ingredients) or items to be silent auctioned on Saturday October 26th after the WOD. Please let Alison know of a description/picture of the item if it is perishable. You can bring that item in the day before the auction ends.

Partake in our “Do you know your coaches?” Raffle – Winner will get 20% off their next month’s membership and a commemorative tote filled with goodies. (and maybe a Bevmo card.) Tickets are $1 or 12 for $10. Raffle tickets will be sold starting Thursday. You can pay directly to the link below for donating and state in the comments of the donation how many tickets.

Donate to our Team Burpee Fundraising challenge – car change is perfect to throw in. We will be having 2 teams – EVERYONE can be a part of this. Poor coaches didn’t want you to feel left out. Put your name on the board to be involved in the burpees at the end of the month. The team with the most money raised will complete 1 burpee for every dollar thrown in their pot.

Come and Sip, Shop and Sweat on Sunday October 13th from 12-2pm. with Dani Nicole Boutique. The booth will be set up, furnished with amazing clothing and mimosas, and shop after a quick workout! Workout will begin at 12:30pm and will be accessible to all ranges of fitness. Dani Nicole Boutique will be donating a portion of their sales to our Barbells for Boobs Fundraiser. Tell your friends!
