Games Season

The CrossFit Games Open has been announced!  Registration begin January 15th and the first WOD is announced February 27th.  That gives us 8 weeks to get prepped.  Guess what?  We’re already on our way.  We’ll discuss this more at the open house and a competition meeting in the coming weeks, website like this but we will continue to work through the Cube, getting in all those heavy reps. I have been very pleased with the Cube.  It has identified some basic strength weaknesses that many of us were able to ‘jump’ or ‘technique’ our way through strength deficiencies in the the fast lifts.  Getting stronger overall has, and will lead, to better overall fitness.  Personally, I have broken through some major barriers, PR’ing my Snatch and hitting a major PR on “D.T.” I attribute these gains to the Cube.
We’ll be working those “Open” skills – basic to advanced CrossFit gymnastics and barbell cycling in strength sessions, on the minute drills and WODs.  CrossFit Oakdale will get you ready for anything!
What to Expect from the 2014 Open from CFG Analysis.  14 possible movements in the Open (really, it’s more like 10.  Light to moderate weight, maybe 1 chance to move something heavy).  It’s all heart and engine.
