Being injured hasn’t been fun. I pulled my pec major and minor exactly a month ago and had spent everyday recovering damaged tissue, troche at the same time, getting ready for Regionals. But, like anything, I’ve learned a lot, and I have some new tools in my tool box: Bowen, KT tape, some new stretches and now…Graston Technique. Graston is similar to foam rolling or Bowen. The practitioner uses steel tools to scrape the damaged muscle and tendons. I’ve read that the practitioner can “feel” the damage, as the tools act as a stethoscope for the muscles. Sound like fun? IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE!  Folks, visit web in the strength/skill portion, like yesterday’s Push Jerks, you get a max of 3 attempts at a weight.  If you miss a weight 3 straight times, you’re done.  Also, be aware of your jumps in weight.  It’s dependent on the lift, but we would rather see 10-20# jumps than 50-90# jumps. Lifting weights is a meritocracy: if you prove you can move big weight, we’ll let you make big jumps.  If you think you’re capable of moving big weight, ask.  Otherwise, be conservative on your lifts, and live to fight another day. CFO will be closed Friday and Saturday for the CrossFit Games NorCal Regionals.  I’ll be competing  in 6 challenging WODs against the fittest men in Northern California.  I’m healed up and ready to go!  We’ll be hanging out at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds all weekend.  We hope to see you there, # approved but if you can’t come out, side effects keep an eye on Facebook for updates.
