Weightlifting geekery from an Outlaw – Low Bar vs. High Bar Back Squat for the purposes of CrossFit.  I have really enjoyed transitioning over to the high bar position after years of being a “low bar” guy.  But I learned a great motto a few years ago – “never say never, and never say always.”  I’m sure there will come a time that we will low bar squat again.  Just not yet…   Workout of the Day   Strength High Bar Back Squat 3 sets of 5 60% of 1RM This should be RELATIVELY light.  We will build off this in the coming weeks, so maybe go lighter than you need to.   Metcon AMRAP 7 10 Wallball Shots 20/14 10 Pullups

CrossFit Oakdale had several athletes compete at the FTF Affiliate Challenge in Fresno, more about CA on Saturday.  It was a long day, generic with some tough WODs and tough movement standards but Team CFO pulled together and carried each other through it.  Even through some long delays, order everyone’s morale was very high, base camp was relaxed and comfortable and Team CFO came through with strong performances. For the most part, we got to cheer on every athlete as they took on the WODs.  That was a nice by-product of a long drawn out day.  Robin, Don, Chance, Emmaline and Hannah each continued to exercise to out cheers even as the days dragged on the and the schedule fell behind by over 3 hours. Hannah W. competed in her first full CrossFit competition at the age of 13.  Throughout the day, young Hannah could have been overwhelmed or overcome...
