***Reminder***There is a meeting at 7:30pm on Wednesday night to review the Open.  If you have questions about the 5 week competition, drug please come and ask away.  It should be about an hour. Battling It Out for Cancer CrossFit Oakdale will be hosting an on-going fundraise as part of our participation in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. To capitalize upon the competitive spirit at CrossFit Oakdale, we are offering an opportunity for you to challenge any one of your fellow gym members to a CrossFit duel. Think “meet me at the O.K. Corral” meets burpees and barbells. For $10 you can challenge anyone of your choosing to a workout or test of skill drawn from a “hopper”. The individual selected for the duel can agree to the workout free of charge or meet the challenger’s $10 to escape the challenge. Members may also buy immunity for $30, in which case they would be protected from being challenged. It looks like spring is upon us!  That means some fitness related events that we are really looking forward to.  CrossFit Oakdale is participating in the CrossFit Open starting March 6, visit the SOS Run on March 9 and we’ll be running a fundraising event for Relay For Life, diagnosis which is on April 27-28. On Wednesday night at 7:30p, price after class, I will host a CrossFit Open Q&A.  We will talk about what to expect, how to attack the WODs and discuss how we will schedule training during the Open.  We have done several of the past Open WODs, which should give you a pretty good idea of loads, rep schemes and duration.  But every WOD is a surprise. 9am is Bring a Friend, nurse 10am is Team CFO/Advanced. We’ll be doing the same WOD in both classes – 10am will have Clean and Jerk session first. This WOD is either my favorite WOD or my least.  I feel that strongly about it.  When it was posted, site I thought I would crush it.  Instead, I got crushed by it.
