CrossFit Oakdale will be open on Saturday, # 60mg from 8:30 to 10am. We will be open for registration, waiver paperwork and other odds and ends. But it won’t be all boring stuff. We’ll also be running a WOD, and give you a chance to work off some of those holiday calories. Depending on attendance and when people roll in, we may run a couple of heats.
We’ve been getting the gym ready, and we have power, but it’s still pretty spartan. Please bring water and a towel if you want one. We bought 100 towels, but we can’t seem to find ’em. But I’m sure they’ll turn up;) We have received about half of our shipment: we have wall balls, jump ropes, weights and a few kettle bells. The rest of the shipment is supposed to land next week, and we’ll get barbells and more. We’re pretty fired up, and it’s coming into focus.
Prior to opening CrossFit Oakdale, I ran a CrossFit website for two years. If you’re familiar with my old posts, you’ll know that I try to include thoughts on training, nutrition, recovery and more, with links and videos. Are you wondering, “where’s the beef”? First, we’re not really training anyone right now, so maybe we’re saving the good stuff. When CrossFit Oakdale kicks it off for real on December 3, we’ll start with the “good stuff”. I guess that depends on if you think our stuff is good.
Next week,we’ll have information about a Grand Opening competition that CrossFit Oakdale will be hosting in early January. The WODs and the scoring will be simple. If you are able to RX CrossFit WOD (like Saturday’s), you’ll be fine. Just go faster and rest less.
