Training for Life

I am always in awe of the people who put their lives on the line every day for others. Our First Responders, cure Firefighters and Law Enforcement Officers never hesitate to move quickly and powerfully. In order to do those things, abortion they train. This upcoming weekend, here Scott H will be participating in the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb. He has been training for this over the past few months, pushing hard in WOD’s AND adding extra training on the lung expanding stuff. It has been fun and motivating to see him push for this event.
Please continue to read about this event and even donate… I will leave this link here….

On March 6, myself plus 7 other firefighters from the Modesto Fire Department will have traveled to Seattle Washington to  participating in a star climbing event.  We will be climbing in full firefighting gear, while breathing air from a SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus)

At 788 feet of vertical elevation, the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle  stands as the second tallest building west of the Mississippi. It takes 69 floors of stairs and 1356 steps to reach the finish. The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb supports the mission of The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, raising money through sponsorships, individual and department fundraising, and entree fees. In 2015, the event featured 1900 firefighters from over 330 different departments and brought in a record breaking $2.2 million dollars for blood-cancer research and patient services.

This is my 3rd year participating in this event, bettering my time each year.  This year I have a goal of beating last years time and hopefully ranking with in the top 100 positions, when put in a field of 1900 participants this is a big accomplishment.  I’ve been enjoying the workouts at Crossfit Oakdale to help build my strength, endurance, and mental stamina for this event. I am looking for any donations to help with this event, any value will make a difference.  Thanks in advance! And Climb on !
