Meet John L.

WHO’S WHO at CFO
John Lindblom is a fun, sale hard working, more about down to earth, order family man. Crossfit Oakdale is fortunate to have the whole Lindblom family, Sarah, JP, and Lucas. Here’s a bit more about John…… John was the winner of the most recent Whole 30 Challenge.
John lost 16.2# and 6.5 inches overall as well as accumulating 4,808.1 points throughout the challenge. John is becoming a mean, lean, strong machine. Keep it up John. Here’s more about John. Enjoy.
How were you introduced to CFO? When did you realize CrossFit was for you?
Sarah got me a gift card for 10 classes at the gym and a CFO sweatshirt for x-mas
2013. At that point, I knew I needed to get back into CrossFit. I was away from the gym for a couple years and it was really starting to show.
What was your first impression ?
My first couple classes at CFO were in the old location and I was excited to be back but also nervous to be walking into a new place with a bunch of super fit people. It seemed like pretty much everyone there was killin the WOD’s and I was killin myself.
What do like best about going to CrossFit Oakdale?
The community is awesome. All the people around the gym are super friendly and know how to have a good time. The scheduling is great. I love the workouts that we do. I feel like it is really setting me up to make myself better.
I have always wanted to…..
Be a dad of a son. It happened. Twice. I look forward to all the dad moments in life. I could go without the fits as soon as I come home from work but I think that comes with the territory.
One word people use to describe me:
Probably don’t want to know. How about you tell me!?
Outside of the gym I like to…..
Camp, I love to camp and make it a point to have the best smelling BBQ/Smoker in the area. So far, I have been 100% successful with that. I just picked up a old K5 Blazer so I have a lot of ideas I’d like to do with it.(Family off-road vehicle)
Three things in my fridge:
5 Dozen Eggs Spinach
Milk(JP drinks it)
The last thing you ate:
Sarah spoils me beyond belief. I got home from work a little late tonight and she had home made marinara sauce mixed with ground turkey over zucchini noodles and on the side had little cauliflower flat breads. Mmmmm
Something no one knows about me or would be surprised to know:
I was “Rookie of the Year” in 2012 at Antioch Speedway in the Hobby Stock class. Good times.
Favorite physical activity outside of CrossFit Oakdale:
Riding Dirt bikes. It has been a while since I have had it out but I still got it.
Favorite place to eat:
Home. At one point I liked going out for meals but you just can’t beat home cookin’. I still like to go out for dinner and drinks once in a while but there’s nothing like the food Sarah or me make at home.
Proudest accomplishment:
Since Jan 1, 2014 till today I have lost 71 pounds and come real close to hangin with the guys at the Gym in workouts.
If you could invite anybody to dinner:
Fred Williams. He is an editor of “Four Wheel and Off Road” magazine and has a YouTube Show called “Dirt Everyday”. Dude builds some real neat stuff.
Favorite workout attire:
Whatever fits right. I keep buying smaller and smaller clothes. It’s getting annoying.
