It looks like spring is upon us! That means some fitness related events that we are really looking forward to. CrossFit Oakdale is participating in the CrossFit Open starting March 6, visit the SOS Run on March 9 and we’ll be running a fundraising event for Relay For Life, diagnosis which is on April 27-28.
On Wednesday night at 7:30p, price after class, I will host a CrossFit Open Q&A. We will talk about what to expect, how to attack the WODs and discuss how we will schedule training during the Open. We have done several of the past Open WODs, which should give you a pretty good idea of loads, rep schemes and duration. But every WOD is a surprise.
The SOS Run is the first week of the Open. We would like to support this important local event that supports Oakdale’s schools. The first full Open day will be on Sunday, March 10. CrossFit Oakdale will be set aside Wednesday night’s at 6:30p during the Open to test the WODs.
Relay for Life is an overnight fundraising walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society. We currently have a team of 9 people who are raising money towards our $1000 goal. The CrossFit Kids Oakdale Team has 5 member so far and also needs to raise $1000. Tomorrow night’s post will be explaining the rule of the CFO Duels…Think CrossFit Oakdale Meets the O.K. Corral. You don’t have to be on the team to participate, but it will be more fun if you do!
The evening of March 16th there will be a Relay for Life Stockton Thunder Hockey Game. The tickets will be $13 and $3 of every ticket we buy will go to our Relay for Life team. The Kids Team will be selling See’s Candy as their fundraiser. They make great Easter gifts!
