In May of 2009, I attended the NorCal Regionals in Aromas, CA to cheer on my husband, Brian. I was blown away by the ability of the women who were competing. They were strong, beautiful and graceful. I was a stay-at-home mom of three little boys, struggling with a thyroid disorder. After that weekend all I wanted to do was a pull-up. I started CrossFit the next day. Within 6 months I had attended my Level 1 Certification and then CrossFit Kids Certification within 9 months.

In December of 2011, Brian and I Opened CrossFit Oakdale with hopes of bringing a healthy lifestyle and competitive spirit to Oakdale, CA.

CrossFit has not only given me a healthier and happier me, but has surrounded me with people who want to be better not only in sport but in life. I am proud of our coaches and the Athletes who are a part of CrossFit Oakdale.

I found CrossFit in 2008, after my husband had been researching it online. After years of gymnastics, competitive cheerleading and your typical globe-gym experience, I was looking for something more challenging. I begged my husband to take me to this CrossFit gym I was hearing so much about, and instantaneously I was hooked. I attended my Level 1 Trainer seminar 3 months after my first WOD, and the gymnastics certification shortly after. I am extremely passionate about CrossFit and love training and coaching at CrossFit Oakdale. It is truly amazing how CrossFit affects the body and mind, and I am so glad that I have the opportunity to experience this within my CrossFit Community.

I started CrossFit September 2010 because I was in need of a challenge, an activity that would take me out of my comfort zone. I am very comfortable in water and for the six years prior, I had been swimming on a masters swim team. I grew up swimming competitively, coaching swimming, and swam in college. I found CrossFit via a friend who posted on a regular basis how much fun he and his wife were having doing CrossFit. I commented on one of his posts about how great it sounded and he sent me a link to my local CrossFit. I haven’t looked back! CrossFit is providing me and my family endless opportunities to learn, get strong, and challenge ourselves. My family and I CrossFit together and our CrossFit Oakdale community is an extended family for us.

    CrossFit since 2014

In high school I played football, basketball and baseball. I then went on to UC Davis and played football.

I am one oldest of 5 kids. I have 4 younger sisters, all of which swam at division 1 schools. Except for the youngest as she is 11. Karlee won a gold medal at the world games in a relay with Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky.

I started crossfit while my wife and I were in Colorado. I loved the intensity and competitiveness of it. It was also something that my wife and I started doing together and gave us a great workout routine that we passionately enjoyed together.
