In May of 2009, I attended the NorCal Regionals in Aromas, CA to cheer on my husband, Brian. I was blown away by the ability of the women who were competing. They were strong, beautiful and graceful. I was a stay-at-home mom of three little boys, struggling with a thyroid disorder. After that weekend all I wanted to do was a pull-up. I started CrossFit the next day. Within 6 months I had attended my Level 1 Certification and then CrossFit Kids Certification within 9 months.
In December of 2011, Brian and I Opened CrossFit Oakdale with hopes of bringing a healthy lifestyle and competitive spirit to Oakdale, CA.
CrossFit has not only given me a healthier and happier me, but has surrounded me with people who want to be better not only in sport but in life. I am proud of our coaches and the Athletes who are a part of CrossFit Oakdale.
In high school I played football, basketball and baseball. I then went on to UC Davis and played football.
I am one oldest of 5 kids. I have 4 younger sisters, all of which swam at division 1 schools. Except for the youngest as she is 11. Karlee won a gold medal at the world games in a relay with Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky.
I started crossfit while my wife and I were in Colorado. I loved the intensity and competitiveness of it. It was also something that my wife and I started doing together and gave us a great workout routine that we passionately enjoyed together.
