Athlete Spotlight – Scott

Without feeling too much like a teacher writing a progress report, Christina Scott has been an outstanding addition to the CrossFit Oakdale community. She is the best exerciser at dressing up that we have ever seen. She is ready for anything, an exciting gift giver and just an all around stand up person. We might have to have a monthly theme week just for her.

– How long have you been a member at CFO?

I have been a CFO member for 8 months.

– How long have you been CrossFitting?

Which means I have been CrossFitting for 8 months.

– How were you introduced to CFO? When did you realize CrossFit was for you?

Amanda Hensley totally got me hooked on CrossFit, and it only took one Saturday class focusing on pull-ups for me to drink the kool aid.

– What advice would you give to somebody just starting CrossFit ?

Don’t get frustrated if certain movements do not come easily to you – instead of frustration use your failures as motivation to keep practicing form and technique. If you can do this, CrossFit will quickly become your fun and healthy addiction.

– What do you like best about going to CrossFit Oakdale?

I like all of the support CFO members and coaches provide for one another. It is like having a second family.

– I have always wanted to…

Be a contestant on the show survivor.

– One word people use to describe me:

Eccentric

– Outside of the gym I like to…

Annoy – I mean spend time with – my wife and kids.

– Three things in my fridge:

Eggs, bacon, and milk

-The last thing you ate:

Shrimp and grits

.- Something no one knows about me or would be surprised to know:

I own, and from time to time wear, high heels – I know – complete shocker!

-Favorite physical activity outside of CrossFit Oakdale:

Running

– Favorite place to eat:

Kokkari Estiatorio (Greek restaurant in San Fran)

-If you could invite anybody to dinner:

I would invite Brandi Carlile to dinner and then request for her to sing instead of talk at the dinner table – she has an awesome voice!

-Favorite workout attire:

An afro, sequin body suit, and roller-skates

-What kind of music do you like to work out to?

Everything with the exception of the music Brian plays when he is coaching.

-Where is your Favorite vacation destination?

Zion all the way. I love to hike the trails and spend the day in the little shops of Springdale.

-What is your favorite and least favorite CrossFit movement?

I love strict pull-ups and overhead squats are the devil.

-What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?

I formed my appreciation for alcohol a little too early.
